After a brief interlude, this site is now back up.
I use a server in Brian's home to host
this blog. Brian gives some reasons for the temporary outage
here. This,
of course doesn't explain why I don't have at least one real blog entry queued
up ready to go. Let's just say, that Brian's machine wasn't the only thing under
the weather lately...

It is truly amazing! My blog has been up since Saturday and has been getting
trickle of traffic. Get a mention on ChrisAn's blog and watch it go! We should
coin a new term:

The simplegeek effect - the massive
increase in blog readership because it was mentioned on www.simplegeek.com.

I sort of knew that would happen. Chris has a huge following. My passing
comment about my blog to him this morning did have an ulterior motive. Thanks,
Chris, for taking the hint and the nice words.

Welcome message

Even though I have been
quoted
as saying I would never have a blog, welcome to my blog. It teaches me never to
say never.

If this blog looks familiar it is because I ripped off the implementation
from Chris Anderson. Like Chris, I will
not restrict my self just to work life but delve into other topics as well. I
plan to keep them well separated so if you don't want my personal version of a

"sump-pump" story, relax, you can filter it out.

I had visions of my first (non-introductory) post being earth shattering,
enlightening, and page-turning riveting example of clear technical writing about
an extremely interesting topic. Well, as it turns out, it is a rant. Oh, well;
maybe I can be enlightening later...
